Mauhan M. Zonoozy / President, LinkedIn

Georgetown JD 2014

Mauhan is passionate about enabling entrepreneurship through active involvement in startup operations, legal guidance, and financial investment. Currently, he is leading a seed-funded tech-media startup, Bubbl, out of the 1776 DC accelerator. Mauhan began his career in venture capital at YAS Capital Partners screening investments in the high technology and media portfolios. He also has developed several other startups including a successful independent film production company based out of Los Angeles.

Mauhan is now a third-year JD candidate at Georgetown University Law Center, where he is Managing Editor of his law journal, a member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution division of Georgetown Barrister’s Counsel, and a Founding Member of the Georgetown Venture Lawyers. He earned his Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and graduated cum laude with a dual-degree from Georgetown University’s undergraduate business program.

Mauhan proudly uses his experiences to lead the InSITE Fellowship in Washington, DC.

 

Sara Zulkosy / VP of Operations, LinkedIn

Sara is a MBA candidate in the Evening Program at Georgetown. During the day, she works for the private equity arm of Clark Construction, and was recently the Director of Product Management for a clean-tech company that provides rapidly-deployable renewable energy solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense, intelligence community, and telecommunications industry (domestic and emerging international markets). She helped transform the business from inception to a trusted hybrid integrator with a major investor. Sara is very active in Georgetown’s entrepreneurial community and was a part of the 2013 international championship Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) team. She holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Management (concentration in Economics, Finance and Cost Engineering) from The George Washington University.

 

Genevieve Ryan / VP Sourcing

Genevieve is a JD/MBA student at Georgetown University with an interest in social entrepreneurship and impact investing. Prior to attending Georgetown, Genevieve worked in the White House and U.S. Senate, and most recently worked in the legal department of the Romney Campaign. She is currently a student leader in the Georgetown Social Enterprise Initiative and is particularly interested in women’s issues, education, and food security, and hopes to one day start her own venture to address these issues. Genevieve received her B.A. in Politics -International Relations from Princeton University.

Ted is currently launching a social enterprise in conjuncture with workforce development non-profit Strive DC. As Vice President of Business Development at biodiesel start-up 11 Good Energy, Ted secured a national purchase order from Kenan Advantage Group–the world’s largest hauler of refined petroleum products–and gained approval for the variance required to sell an innovative biodiesel in the state of California. He built a subsidiary to market a glycerin by-product that quickly produced more revenues and profits than the company’s core product. Prior to 11 Good Energy, Ted worked as a portfolio manager for a socially responsible investing fund at JPS Global Investments, in risk management at the world’s fourth largest asset management firm Allianz Global Investors, and as an analyst at Spain’s most innovative growth equity fund IAME Capital Riesgo.

 

Michael Pavey / VP Recruitment, LinkedIn

Michael is a second-year MBA student at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University, and is enrolled in the International Business Diplomacy certificate program organized jointly by the business school and the School of Foreign Service. At Georgetown, Michael currently serves as President of the MBA Entrepreneurship Club. He is a board member of the DC chapter of InSITE, a national organization which pairs graduate students with early-stage entrepreneurs. Before starting his second year, Michael interned at Agora Partnerships, an organization which supports social entrepreneurs in Latin America, where he developed a strategy to utilize crowdfunding to channel capital towards Agora’s entrepreneurs. Prior to Georgetown, Michael gained eight years’ international experience of effecting technology-related change within organizations both small and large: chiefly, Acturis and UBM. Amongst his achievements, Michael can count rolling out a major new digital product to France, Spain and the US, and developing a new data business from scratch. Michael is an avid follower of the latest trends in technology, particularly in mobile and data. He has also been known to teach yoga classes, and as a fluent speaker of French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, delights in extending his cultural horizons.

Edward Chu is a second-year MBA at the Georgetown McDonough School of Business specializing in Entrepreneurship and Strategy. Prior to McDonough, Edward worked at Rockwell Collins as a project manager pushing innovation boundaries in the avionics industry. He worked and led numerous engineering disciplines including integrated circuit, board-level, software, systems integration, and manufacturing quality management engineering through the design, verification, and certification product life cycles. Edward is a graduate from Rose-Hulman with a B.S. in Computer Engineering.

 

Michael Turner

Michael is a 2014 MBA candidate at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and is focusing his studies on entrepreneurship. Prior to attending Georgetown, Michael was a project engineer for Delta Air Lines leading the technical effort on aircraft cabin reconfiguration projects. In addition to his current academics, he is working towards launching his own venture in the gaming and social networking space. While developing his concept, Michael is looking forward to helping grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Washington. He received his Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Joe Vladeck is a JD/MBA candidate at Georgetown University, focusing on the nexus of public policy and innovation. Before Georgetown, Joe helped run College Forward, a growth-stage non-profit in Austin, Texas, where he was responsible for strategic planning and business development. Joe also spent a season playing semi-pro baseball in Brussels, Belgium. He graduated from Amherst College in 2006.

Prior to business school, Jeff worked as a Director of Business Development at Bloomberg LP where he helped launch a new business unit. Prior to Bloomberg, Jeff worked for the management consulting division of the Corporate Executive Board. Jeff received his BA from James Madison University in Political Science and English.

Gabriel is a first year MBA student at McDonough Business School of business specializing in Entrepreneurship and Strategy. Prior to McDonough, Gabriel worked for Repsol YPF, implementing a transformation plan for the largest oil company in Argentina. In addition, he worked in the marketing entertainment industry, building his own start-up and selling it to a private investor. Later, Gabriel became a distribution channel for Mobileye, and introduced the latest technology for advanced driving assistance systems to reduce road accidents.

Elizabeth Block is a MBA first-year candidate at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business specializing in Marketing and Strategy. Prior to McDonough, Elizabeth worked at Macmillan Higher Education as an Associate Media Editor where she led teams of designers and authors to create multimedia e-Books, interactive activities, and web-based assessment tools. Elizabeth served as project manager for the digital education suites accompanying the best-selling Myers Psychology and Comer Abnormal Psychology franchises and was one of the primary developers on Macmillan’s social networking site for instructors, Faculty Lounge. Elizabeth graduated with honors from the University of Chicago and was the recipient in 2009 for the University’s Elise F. Phillipe Memorial Prize for Poetic Achievement.

Sean is a second-year MBA Candidate at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Prior to business school, Sean worked at Deloitte and Touche where he was an external auditor for five years focusing on the financial services industry. He spent four years in New York and one in the UK. After school, Sean will start full-time as an investment banker at Citigroup covering Asset Managers, Exchanges, and Payment Processors. Sean is currently the Executive Vice President of the Finance Club at Georgetown and enjoys a variety of athletic extracurricular activities.

Mark is a third-year JD Candidate at Georgetown University Law Center. As a Summer Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Mark analyzed various legal issues, producing formal and informal memoranda as well as client communications. He also took part in outlining and drafting motions in various nationwide litigation matters. Mark spent his first summer at UBS Wealth Management Americas where he worked in the Structured Products division, reviewing and revising draft Prospectus documents prepared by outside counsel. After graduating from Georgetown, Mark plans to return to Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Orange County office.

Manoj is a second-year JD Candidate at Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to attending Georgetown, he worked for Harvard Pilgrim, where he focused on operational risk assessments and internal control evaluation. Manoj also spent two years at Grant Thornton, where he worked on a variety of engagements, including financial statement audits, loan reviews, and Sarbanes-Oxley implementation. Most recently, Manoj worked as a Summer Associate at IndexIQ – an innovative asset management firm. He holds certifications in Public Accounting, Fraud Examination, and Internal Auditing, and has also served as a Business Advisor to start-ups & non-profits. He is currently the Finance Director of Georgetown Venture Lawyers. Manoj graduated summa cum laude from Worcester State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Throughout law school, Mark worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement. He also spent a semester at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where he conducted research for the Bureau’s Bank Products Investigation team.

Before joining LBS and MSB, he spent the past three years at Acqua Capital, an M&A advisory boutique, where he advised institutional clients on cross-border transactions. Lately, he co-founded Visiosafe, a video analytics company, specializing in customer flow analysis. He holds a B.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Management from Babson College.

Prior to Georgetown, Rob helped launch an international startup based in Manila, Philippines and Washington, DC. He brings a proven track record of effective sales, marketing and fundraising in both startup and non-profit settings. He is currently part of a team working to establish Georgetown’s first impact investing fund, and holds a B.S. in Business Economics from Grove City College.

Eric is a first-year MBA candidate at Georgetown McDonough School of Business. Prior to MSB, Eric spent 8 years at RedPath Integrated Pathology, an early-stage biotechnology company offering molecular diagnostics for cancer. While at RedPath, he led the development of the company’s information systems, developed diagnostic algorithms, and established the company’s research and development group, Previously Eric also helped start a non-profit initiative around transit information in Pittsburgh, and built a computer lab in eastern Nicaragua. He holds a master’s degree in ocean physics from the University of Washington, and a bachelor’s in physics from Yale University. He speaks Spanish with his daughter Sloan, can hold a conversation in Portuguese, and is now trying to learn Arabic.

After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Communication, she spent 5 years building marketing campaigns for brands including Taco Bell, Hilton Hotels and Acura. She is now a student leader in the Global Social Enterprise Initiative and hopes to start a for-profit venture with an emphasis on social impact after graduating.
