The Stanford InSITE program recently hosted its first Happy Hour of the winter quarter at Nola’s in downtown Palo Alto on February 10th. There was a great turnout from both first and second-year fellows as well as recent InSITE alums in the Bay Area. We were also fortunate enough to have Paul Tumpowsky, Chairman of InSITE, in attendance.
The West Coast InSITE alums at the event included:
Peter Karlen, Director of Business Development at Solazyme
Don Kim, Partner Technology Manager at Google
Joelle Rauh, Founder of Wagfield Academy
Christian DiCarlo, Director of Business Development at Box
Andrew Ellis, Attorney at WSGR
In addition, Shane Ballew from Silicon Valley Bank joined us to discuss opportunities for Stanford InSITE fellows to attend SVB events and partner on projects together.
This event was a great opportunity for each of the fellows to interact with the West Coast InSITE alums to discuss the current projects they are working on with startups and local VCs as well as learn more about future career opportunities in entrepreneurship.
