What are InSITE Alumni up to?

We know that when our InSITE fellows graduate, they go on to do amazing things as VC’s, founders, consultants, lawyers and in many other fields. But a few months ago we got curious and sent out a survey to find out exactly what our InSITE alumns are up to.

Many replied, including fellows who graduated in 1999 and 2000. And what became clear was that our InSITE Alumni are incredibly accomplished individuals who have taken their passion for entrepreneurship and technology into great organizations.

Let me share some of the findings:

We have former InSITE alumns around the world in Asia, Europe and the US, though most live in the great cities of NY and San Francisco.

35% are working in start ups,  22% in established companies, 15% in private equity, 10% in VC, 11% are lawyers and 9% are consultants.

40% end up in tech or media and 28% in finance.

Some of the companies where we have alumns include:

Starts ups (BestVendor, crunchama-me, OneTok, SkuRun, Yipit)

Venture Capital (Battery Ventures, Seaport capital, NYU Innovation Venture Fund)

Tech and media (Youtube, Hulu. Adobe, Google, Lab126)

Consulting (BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Accenture)

Law (Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Green Ascent, LLC, Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, Mayer Brown LLC, Proskauer Rose)

Banking and finance (Morgan Stanley, PineBridge Investm ents, The Blackstone Group, HIG Capital, BlackRock)

We hope that InSITE alumni will continue to share their achievements with us so as to strengthen our extraordinary network of fellows. In the next post, I’ll tell you the stories of some of InSITE’s Young Alumni who have founded their companies or are working in start ups in the city.
