WHAT WE DO

InSITE was founded in 1999 with a mission to create a community of passionate leaders who share common values and have the desire, ability and network to support innovative companies and projects. InSITE Fellows at 7 chapters across the nation engage in semester-long consulting projects for emerging companies, in addition to chapter-specific curriculum and networking events.

In their first year of the program, fellows are required to join consulting-style teams, which work with InSITE-selected startups on crucial problems. Companies span a range of industries, including:

  • Software and Hardware
  • Healthcare and Life Sciences
  • Enterprise Services
  • Education
  • Consumer Goods
  • Data, AI, and Machine Learning
  • Entertainment and Media
  • Social Impact
  • Financial Services

Projects vary depending on the individual company’s most pressing need. In the past, fellows have worked on projects centered around the formation of pitch materials, marketing and brand development, product development, consumer research and pricing strategy, among others.

Senior Fellows also have the opportunity to pursue alternative projects paths, including working for a venture capital firm, conducting independent research, and participating in the  Future Angels program.

InSITE’s long-standing relationships with the startup and venture capital community allow us to bring in prestigious figures in venture finance and entrepreneurship. Recurring events are:

  • Mock Term Sheet Negotiation
  • VC and Founder Breakfast Series
  • How to Pitch Your Business
  • Product Management Crash Course

InSITE Connect

InSITE Connect is the culmination of the core project-based work undertaken by InSITE Fellows. Each term presents the results of their project, often alongside company managers. This platform gives Fellows an opportunity to demonstrate InSITE’s impact to attending venture capitalists, advisors, entrepreneurs and peers. At the same time, Fellows gain recognition for their efforts and obtain direct feedback from mentors. Senior Fellows also present the results of their Special Projects.

In New York, more than 120 people attend InSITE Connect each April and December.

Kingpins of Silicon Alley

Kingpins of Silicon Alley is New York City’s first and only startup bowling competition. The goal of the friendly faceoff is to help cultivate and develop relationships within the NYC community, while supporting the InSITE program. The event has been a tremendous success over the last two years with the proceeds benefitting programming and increasing opportunities for our Fellows.

InSITE takes care of the logistics and event management, allowing sponsors to enjoy the night and engage with local entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and other members of the NYC entrepreneurial ecosystem.
